Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

We, Knitflow, operate the mobile application “Knitflow” (the “App”) and the website knitflow.io (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the App or the Site.

2. What Information We Collect

User-provided data. You may voluntarily provide the following while using the App:

  • Project titles, progress, work sessions, and attached files (e.g., PDF patterns).
  • Links to external content (e.g., YouTube videos for patterns).

Email address (waitlists). If you join the Android waitlist or the AI helpers waitlist on the Site, we collect the email address you enter, along with the date and the language of the page you signed up on. We use it only to tell you when that launches, and we delete it on request.

Purchase and subscription status. If you subscribe to premium features, payment is handled entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. Through Apple’s StoreKit, the App receives confirmation of which subscription is active and when it renews or expires. We never see or store your payment card details.

Automatically collected data. We may automatically collect:

  • Device information (such as device type and OS version).
  • Usage data and analytics to improve app performance.
  • Advertising identifiers and analytics through Google AdMob for personalized advertisements.
  • Anonymous usage analytics via Amplitude to enhance user experience and app functionality. No personally identifiable information is shared.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To store and manage your projects, work sessions, and attached patterns via iCloud.
  • To unlock and maintain the premium features you have subscribed to.
  • To send you a one-time notice when Knitflow launches on Android or releases AI helpers, if you joined that waitlist.
  • To analyze usage patterns and improve the functionality and user experience of the App.
  • To show relevant advertisements through Google AdMob.
  • To monitor app performance and user interactions using Amplitude analytics.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Your Information

  • Apple’s iCloud: All data you store in the App is processed and stored using Apple’s iCloud service, subject to Apple’s privacy policies.
  • Apple (App Store and StoreKit): Subscriptions and payments are processed by Apple, subject to Apple’s privacy policies.
  • Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to serve ads in the App. Google may collect and use certain information to personalize ads. For details, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Amplitude: We use Amplitude to analyze anonymized user behavior to improve app usability and performance. No personally identifiable data is collected or shared.
  • Cloudflare: The Site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes waitlist form submissions on our behalf.
  • Google Workspace: Waitlist emails are stored in a private Google Sheet in our Google Workspace account.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties unless required by law.

5. How We Protect Your Information

  • Encrypting data stored in the iCloud service.
  • Using secure transmission methods when handling data.
  • Restricting access to anonymized analytics data collected via Amplitude.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Data Loss and External Content

  • Knitflow is not responsible for any data loss due to network failures, system errors, or using multiple devices connected to the same iCloud account. We recommend regularly backing up your data.
  • If external links (e.g., YouTube videos) saved in the App become invalid or unavailable, related pattern data may be lost. Knitflow is not responsible for the availability or continued accessibility of external content.

7. Upcoming Accounts and Sync

We are working on optional sign-in and our own sync server. These are not live yet. Before they launch, we will update this Privacy Policy to explain exactly what account data is collected, where it is stored, and how to delete it, and we will let you know in the App.

8. Your Data Protection Rights

  • Access, update, or delete your personal data, including a waitlist email, by contacting us at herim@knitflow.io.
  • Manage your data preferences through your device settings, including opting out of personalized advertising.
  • Manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in your Apple ID settings.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our App is not intended for users under the age of 4, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 4, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via in-app notifications or by updating the date at the top of this page.
